Visual reading support means non-speech features that help your eyes track and follow text as it is read aloud. Sensory Readable includes several — word-by-word underlining, the Banner display showing spoken text in real time, and Speak on Select.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to enable the visual reading aids?

Word Underline is on by default. The Banner appears automatically when you dock the toolbar at the top of the screen. Speak on Select is on by default — you can turn it off in Settings if you prefer.

Can I use visual aids without speech?

Yes — Word Underline highlights words as Readable reads, but you can also enable purely visual modes. See the individual topic pages.

Do visual aids work in any application?

Yes — they work in any Windows application that Readable can read. Like speech, they use OCR fallback for locked PDFs and images of text.
