Sensory Scribe for Windows requires the following system specification.

Required

Windows 11 version 22H2 or newer. Sensory Scribe uses Microsoft's Live Captions accessibility feature, which was introduced in Windows 11 version 22H2. Earlier versions of Windows 11, and Windows 10, are not supported.

Built-in or USB/Bluetooth microphone. For best transcription accuracy, use a good quality microphone and position it close to the speaker.

No internet connection is needed for recording or transcription. All processing is local.

Live Captions — enabling for the first time

If you have not used Windows Live Captions before, Windows may prompt you to download the language files the first time Scribe opens the Captions window. This is a one-time download and requires an internet connection. After installation, Live Captions — and therefore Scribe — works fully offline.
