Sensory Writeable includes a toolbar of quick links to macOS accessibility settings. These links open macOS system settings that apply across all applications on your Mac β€” not just Writeable.

Sensory Writeable accessibility quick links toolbar showing Display, Speech, Voice, Captions, and Audio buttons

Accessibility links explained

  1. Display / Tint β€” Opens macOS Accessibility Display settings. Adjust screen magnification, apply a colour filter (tint) to the entire display, invert colours, and change display contrast.
Equivalent to Sensory Tint and Sensory Ruler on Windows.
  2. Speech β€” Opens macOS Spoken Content settings. Configure text-to-speech voices, enable the floating TTS controller, set word and sentence highlighting, and enable Speak Selection or Speak Under Pointer.
See Readable Toolbar for Mac β€” Speech (TTS) for more detail.
  3. Voice β€” Opens macOS Voice Control settings. Use your voice to navigate the desktop, dictate text, and control applications hands-free. When Voice Control is on, it handles dictation; standard macOS Dictation is not available simultaneously.
See Readable Toolbar for Mac β€” Voice Control & Dictation for more detail.
  4. Captions β€” Opens macOS Captions settings. Customise subtitle styles and enable Live Captions for real-time transcription of audio. Live Captions in macOS 15 is currently available when the system language is set to US English.
  5. Audio β€” Opens macOS Sound settings. Adjust audio settings and enable background ambient sounds (such as rain, ocean, or white noise) to aid focus and concentration whilst working.
Changes made through these links affect macOS system settings and apply to all applications β€” they are not limited to Sensory Writeable.
