Sensory Scribe for Mac can transcribe audio or video content from other devices, existing recordings, or streaming sources β€” by capturing the audio as it plays through your Mac.

How it works

  1. Open the audio or video file in QuickTime, your browser, or another media player on your Mac.
  2. Open Scribe and start a new recording with ⌘ R.
  3. Play the audio or video. Scribe captures and transcribes the audio output in real time.
  4. Add markers and notes as needed during playback.
  5. Press ⌘ R to stop recording when the media finishes. The transcript is saved automatically.
Note: Avoid muting your Mac's system audio during transcription of external media β€” Scribe transcribes from the audio output. Turning the volume low is fine; muting may interrupt transcription.
