Tips for best results

1
Good lighting makes a big difference.
Natural daylight or a well-lit indoor space gives the most accurate results. Avoid glare and shadows across the text.
2
Fill the frame with text.
Position the camera so the text you want fills as much of the frame as possible. Use the pinch-to-zoom gesture for small or distant text.
3
Crop before scanning.
If the image contains text alongside images or other non-text areas, cropping to just the text first improves recognition accuracy.
4
Hold steady.
A blurry capture will reduce OCR accuracy. Rest your elbows on a surface or hold the document flat to stabilise the shot.
5
Edit before reading.
The recognised text is editable. Correcting any OCR errors before tapping Play ensures the reading is accurate.

Handwriting tips

  • Handwriting recognition works best with clear, well-spaced lettering.
  • Use good lighting and avoid shadows falling across the page.
  • Crop to just the handwritten area to avoid interference from printed background text.
