Readable Notes integrates with the Windows system spellchecker. As you type, misspelled words are automatically underlined in red.
Correcting spelling errors
To correct a spelling error:
- Right-click (or Ctrl+click) on any red-underlined word.
- A list of suggested corrections appears.
- Click the correct spelling to replace the word.
Turning off spellchecking for exams
Readable Notes can be used as a computer reader for examinations. If spellchecking needs to be disabled for exam conditions, it can be turned off via the Edit menu.
Exam use: To turn off spellchecking, go to Edit β Spelling and Grammar and deselect Check Spelling While Typing. This ensures no red underlines appear during the examination.
Writing Tools on Windows
Readable Notes for Windows uses the Windows system spellchecker for error detection. For Mac users, Readable Notes also integrates with Apple Writing Tools (available on macOS Sequoia), which provides AI-powered proofreading, rewriting, and summarisation. See the Mac Writing Tools guide for details.
